Manuel Lopez Restrepo, our Young Talent Program Manager, took part in the Networking Lunch at the Future of Work Summit held at the Graduate Institute of International and Development Studies. The event was organized by TASC Platform.

On this World Refugee Day, Manuel was invited as an expert to discuss the work carried out by Yojoa and share his experience of coaching young people from⸱e⸱s migration background.

This year, artificial intelligence (AI) and migration were at the heart of discussions on how to combine these fields to create inclusive solutions and reduce inequalities.

To mark World Refugee Day, SINGA Switzerland, Yojoa and Association découvrir jointly launched the Inclusion Charter. Yojoa is proud to have collaborated on the creation of this Charter, and looks forward to working with signatory companies and association partners, and participating in the change in favor of diversity and inclusion in business!

During the day, the organizing structures invited their partner companies and prepared candidates to meet for 15-minute interviews. A total of 37 companies interviewed over 150 job-seekers and apprentices, for whom access to employment is more difficult.

Our Diversity & Inclusion Manager, Amanda El Amin Senger, took part in the "Lunch des bonnes pratiques" on the theme of inclusive recruitment, organized by Après-GE, at L'ESPACE.

Amanda spoke about:
- the challenges of inclusive recruitment for companies and organizations;
- best practices and tips for implementing more inclusive recruitment;
- Yojoa's experience of CV-free recruitment.

Themes that are as important as they are necessary, so that we can reflect together on how to promote greater inclusion.

Participation in a round table on the theme of professional inclusion for refugees, organized by BNP Paribas. Emmanuelle Werner Gillioz and Isabelle Giordano, Managing Director of the BNP Paribas Foundation, highlighted the importance of developing a more resilient, creative and agile ecosystem to make the professional inclusion of refugees a reality in Switzerland and Europe.

CEC Émilie-Gourd invited Manuel Lopez Restrepo and Najibullah Mahsumi, a young talent of Afghan origin and now a student at the École Hôtelière de Genève, to test their Escape Game on the theme of migration. The game was followed by a discussion/exchange with students and teachers on Najibullah's background and point of view.

At the invitation of the Department of Social Cohesion (DCS) of the Canton of Geneva, Yojoa presented its work in supporting talented young people from migrant backgrounds and the bridging role it plays between young people and employers. Accompanied by Marion Gouriveau from Regus, Yojoa shared its experience alongside fifteen other organizations active in the professional integration of young people through sport, art and culture.

These projects have all been supported by the Office de l'action, de l'insertion et de l'intégration sociale (OAIS) to provide an innovative and appropriate response to the growing number of young people who find themselves on social assistance.
